The Prepared Home-Montessori Consult
Turn your home into a peaceful, child-led environment.
Service Description
Is your home environment supporting your child's natural urge to explore, or are you constantly managing behavioral friction? True Montessori development views the home as a Prepared Environment—a space designed intentionally to support functional independence, self-correction, and deep, uninterrupted concentration. Through our in-home consultation packages, we partner with your family to look at your space through the eyes of the child. Whether you are welcoming a newborn, rearranging an active toddler space, or introducing practical life work into your daily home routines, we help you eliminate the clutter of plastic toys and arrange your home using beautiful, natural materials that call to your child's curiosity. What We Focus On: • Spatial Layouts: Maximizing freedom of movement and accessibility. • Practical Life Setups: Creating functional child-sized areas for cleaning, food preparation, and self-care. • Materials Curation: Swapping chaotic toy boxes for beautiful, low open shelves that display intentional work. Service Boundaries: Our standard service covers homes located within a strict 20-mile radius of Houston, Texas. Travel beyond this standard radius requires written approval and a mileage surcharge.

Cancellation Policy
1. Geographic Boundaries & Travel Limit: Standard consultation services extend within a strict 20-mile radius of Houston, Texas. Travel beyond this boundary requires written authorization from the studio and is subject to a pre-approved travel surcharge. 2. Safety & Execution Disclaimer: Mindful Learner's Montessori Studio provides space planning, organizational advice, and hands-on decluttering grounded in Montessori principles. Scope of Service: The consultant acts as a pedagogical guide and space designer. The consultant is not a licensed contractor, architect, or handyman. Physical Installations: The client/homeowner retains sole responsibility for the physical installation of all furniture, fixtures, and childproofing measures (including baby gates, outlet covers, and lock installations). Furniture Anchoring: For the safety of the child, the studio strongly recommends anchoring all heavy furniture, dressers, and bookshelves to the wall to prevent tip-overs. The consultant does not provide physical installation, wall-mounting, or furniture anchoring services. 3. Sustainable Heirloom Curation Add-on (If Selected)If you choose to add our Sustainable Heirloom Curation service to your consultation package, the following timeline and procurement rules apply: Upfront Fees: Execution requires the upfront payment of the non-refundable sourcing fee ($150 for an Environment Refresh or $300 for a Full Room Curation) plus the pre-approved material budget deposit. Sourcing does not begin until both are paid. The Sustainable Fallback Rule: The standard sourcing timeline is 21 days from the deposit payment. If a specific functional item cannot be discovered within local vintage markets by day 18, the studio will purchase a premium, brand-new plastic-free equivalent (e.g., solid wood or glass) to keep the project on schedule. Vintage Material Release: Sourced vintage and antique items are purchased "as-is" and may not carry modern manufacturer labels or consumer safety warnings. Sourced materials are final sale, and the client assumes all risk associated with introducing these pre-loved items into their home environment.
